It’s such a relief when you meet a group of people who really get it. They just listen and don’t judge you.
That’s usually the first thing people say when describing the benefits of group therapy. Through a shared experience you can support and encourage each other. You can speak openly and know your privacy will be respected. Taken together these elements of universality, confidentiality, and reciprocity provide a safe space to develop tools to help you live a happier life.

Positive Body Image Support Group
The idea for this group come from a bright and engaging young woman who worked diligently and successfully on facets of her eating disorder. As she entered recovery, she understood the role the her eating disorder had played in her life, developed a program of self-care that fit her needs, challenged negative thoughts about food and body, began to eat intuitively, and initiated satisfying emotionally intimate relationships. Once in recovery, she sought a group where she could continue to find support as she wrestled with questions like:
How can I be healthy in a culture that promotes unhealthy body image messages?
What can I do when the old messages about food and body start to affect me?
Where can I find a community of people who are truly body positive?
Perhaps you are looking to meet others striving to cultivate an affirming and positive attitude toward their bodies. This group will use a model of change that allows you to devise your own plan for personal change. Group members will develop skills to support body respect and self-acceptance, must be in recovery from an eating disorder, or be in individual therapy.
This group is limited to eight people. Date and time to be determined.
